In a daring rescue operation, a hiker in Southern California was freed after being trapped under a colossal boulder for seven hours.
The incident occurred in the Inyo Mountains, just below Santa Rita Flat near Independence, according to the Inyo County Search and Rescue.

The boulder, which was estimated to weigh between 6,000 and 10,000 pounds, had pinned the unidentified man, leaving him in a perilous situation.
A team of rescuers was dispatched to the scene, with two individuals being dropped off by a California Highway Patrol helicopter, while seven others navigated the challenging terrain using a network of four-wheel drive roads.
